Portugal shares the Iberian peninsular with Spain. It has fine beaches, beautiful castles, charming fishing villages, well-maintained hotels, excellent restaurants and colourful folk tradition. Towards the north, the character is more Celtic, while in the south, Moorish ancestry is apparent. The main tourist attractions are in the capital of Lisbon and Estoril on the west coast and the Algarve to the south.
The Algarve is located to the south of Portugal on the south-west tip of Europe and it is one of Europe's sunniest spot, a unique jewel where the finest beaches and weather on the continent meet traditional historic Portugal.
Hotel Quinta do Lago is located on the Algarve coast in southern Portugal, in a place where outstanding natural beauty is perfectly complemented by gracious living. The Ria Formosa Natural Park forms the exquisite backdrop for many of the attractions and places of interest around Hotel Quinta do Lago. The Ria Formosa is a lagoon separated from the sea by a coastal dune system, which is broken up by various natural and artificial inlets. It includes a narrow strip of land and a series of coastal dunes running almost parallel to the mainland, formed by peninsulas and sandy barrier islands which serve to protect the salt marshes, channels and islets.
The five star resort Quinta do Lago has spectacular views across the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, a famous bird sanctuary, bringing all the natural beauty of the surroundings to its guests. Guestrooms & Suites : To stay at Quinta do Lago is to enter another world of luxury and elegance. There are 121 well-appointed guestrooms and 20 suites, including a Royal Suite with its own private pool. The objective has been to recapture a style of authentic Algarvian life - tranquil, captivating and revitalising, filled with the fragrances of this beautiful region.
All guestrooms and suites are equipped with individuelly controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, two direct dials telephones with internet access and voicemail, minibar, safe and bathroom with hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers and a variety of deluxe bathroom amenities.

• The Lagoon Side Garden View Room and terrace have a size of 44 squaremetres and they are located on the 1st and 2nd floors. These rooms offer two twin beds and overlook the hotel's charming gardens, facing southwest with spectacular afternoon sunsets. Maximum of 1 child sharing a room with two adults.
• The Lagoon Side Partial Sea View Rooms and terrace have a size of 44 squaremetres and most of them are located on the 2nd floor. These rooms offer two twin beds and they offer a partial ocean view and overlook the Ria Formosa Natural Park, the dunes and the Atlantic Ocean, facing southwest with spectacular afternoon sunsets. Maximum of 1 child sharing a room with two adults.
• The Lagoon Side Direct Sea View Roos and terrace have a size of 44 squaremetres and they are located on the 2nd to the 6th floors. These rooms offer two twin beds and they offer a full ocean view and overlook the Ria Formosa Natural Park, the dunes and the Atlantic Ocean, facing southwest with spectacular afternoon sunset. Maximum of 1 child sharing a room with two adults.
• The Golf Side Garden View Rooms offer balcony and two twin beds. These rooms overlook the hotel's charming gardens and main entrance.
• The Golf Side Partial Sea View Rooms offer Balcony and two twin beds. These rooms offer a partial ocean view, with sunrise overlooking the golf course.
• The Premium Golf Side Rooms are larger than the Golf Side Rooms, offering an addtional lounge area within the room with sofa and armchair. Another plus is the refined, comfortable and appealing décor. The rooms have corona beds, either two twins or one king-size. These rooms offer a partial sea view and overlook the golf course and they have a larger bathroom, some with separate shower.
• The Premium Lagoon Side Rooms are larger than the Lagoon Side Rooms, offering an addtional lounge area within the room with sofa and armchair. Another plus is the refined, comfortable and appealing décor. The rooms have corona beds, either two twins or one king-size. • The lovely Garden View Suites are situated on the lagoon side of the hotel. These suites are located on the ground floor, overlooking the hotel's beautiful gardens. They also offer a terrace. There are 2 Garden Suites in the hotel. These Suites comprise a separate living room with dining area, separated from the bedroom by a small entrance hall. Amenities and facilities are the same as for the Lagoon and Golf Side Rooms but with larger sizes of bathroom toiletries. There is also an extra shower room.
• The 6 Deluxe Suites are located on the Lagoon Side of the hotel, some with a full ocean view, others overlooking the hotel's beautiful gardens. All are equipped with balconies or large terraces and two of the suites have the ability to interconnect with an additional bedroom. These suites comprise a separate living room and dining room, separated from the bedroom by a small entrance hall. Amenities and facilities are the same as for the Lagoon and Golf Side Rooms but with larger sizes of bathroom toiletries. There is also an extra shower room in the living room.
• The Royal Suite is Hotel Quinta do Lago's largest and finest suite, located on the top 6th floor with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a 420 squaremetrs suite, including a private terrace with a heated swimming pool and Jacuzzi and offers two separate bedrooms, one king-size and another with twin beds, a very spacious lounge, indoor and terrace dining rooms for ten people, a dressing room, three bathrooms including one with Jacuzzi, fax machine, CD player and TV, DVD and Video. This suite comprises a separate living room and dining room, separated from the bedroom by a small entrance hall. Amenities and facilities are the same as for the Regular Rooms but with larger sizes of bathroom toiletries.

Cuisine & Cocktails : Guests can enjoy cocktails in the Laguna Bar before dining in one of two superb restaurants. Only the freshest local produce is used. Light meals are also available at the poolside bar during the summer.

The Venetian Restaurant Cá d'Oro serves fine Venetian cuisine in an elegant and romantic atmosphere with Venetian décor and fireplace. Cá d'Oro offers a comprehensive menu that includes a number of classic dishes. The pastas are all home-made, and many of the ingredients that give Venetian cuisine its distinctive flavour are all imported from Italy.for diner only.
• Brisa do Mar is a beautifully located sea-view restaurant with an outdoor terrace, featuring modern-style International cuisine and traditional Portuguese specialities.for buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, à la carte restaurant with weekly buffets.
• The Laguna Bar, situated near the two restaurants, is the hotel's main bar and offers spectacular views of the Ria Formosa. It is a quiet retreat with indoor and outdoor seating, and a good place to meet and enjoy a sunset cocktail or after-dinner drink. It features a live pianist every night. During the winter it isall day, but in the summer it only in the evening. There is a snack menu available on request, and tea is served on a tea trolley in the afternoon.
• During the summer, the Pool Bar provides drinks by the pool. Snacks are served at the Pool Terrace.

Leisure & Wellness : For those who appreciate the good life, Quinta do Lago offers the best of everything. Golfers can play on courses that regularly host the Portuguese windsurfers can skim across their own saltwater lake; and there are superb riding stables and tennis courts available. To cool off, guests can choose between the glorious, blue Atlantic and the hotel's superb indoor and outdoor heated pools. Bicycles are available for hire at the hotel, and in the surrounding area guests can enjoy clay pigeon shooting, deep-sea fishing, waterskiing, sailing and canoeing. For those on foot, jogging paths are provided. But for those who simply wish to wind down, what could be more relaxing than a walk in the hotel's beautiful grounds, or a long, lazy afternoon on the golden sands of the beach. Golf : The Hotel Quinta do Lago is situated within one of the largest and most luxurious golfing resorts in Europe. There are four championship courses within Quinta do Lago itself, and eight more within easy reach - a true paradise for golfers who enjoy the challenge of quality golf courses in beautiful surroundings and making Quinta do Lago one of the most comprehensive golf hotels in the world. All ten golf courses are available with pre-booked starting times and a minimum handicap is required for each course. Golf buggies and clubs are available to hire. Hotel Quinta do Lago offers special golf tuition packages organised by the hotel's golf pro. Individual and group lessons can also be arranged and practice facilities are available. Meetings & Banquets : All year round (except during the summer and high season, and holiday periods such as Christmas, Easter and New Year) Hotel Quinta do Lago provides an ideal setting for business events of every kind, offering sophisticated facilities in an atmosphere of privacy and seclusion.
The hotel has extensive facilities suitable for all types of functions, with meeting and banqueting rooms accommodating up to 200 people. All rooms have tungsten/fluorescent lighting with fixed/movable spotlights. Floor loading is 500 kg/cm2. The hotel can supply full staging and lighting facilities, front and back projection systems, Prestel, telephone points, blackout curtains, power points and flip charts. A residential engineer is always available during events. There is a 35 mm slide projector remote lead point and a 15 mm cine sound projector point in each meeting room.
