The "Albergo di Milano", nowadays known as the Grand Hotel et de Milan was inaugurated in the year 1863. The building, of eclectic style with neo-gothic features, was smaller than it is at present. Towards the end of the nineteenth century, it achieved great significance as it was the only hotel in the city that offered post and telegraph services. For this reason, it was patronized by diplomats and a business clientele. Guestrooms & Suites : The Grand Hotel et de Milan's 72 guestrooms, 15 junior suites and 8 suites, all different to one another, have period furniture which has been fondly restored. The large bathrooms have been restrutured with the use of very best Italian marble.

• The Don Carlos Restaurant has been called so in honour of Maestro Giuseppe Verdi who was a guest of the grand hotel for more than twenty years. The Don Carlos Restaurant offers a regional cuisine, by the light of its antique silver candelabra, in a cosy, refined and elegant setting, revived by pictures, sketches and décor coming from the La Scala Museum.
