The Bauer Gruenwald Hotel and »Il Palazzo at the Bauer« are the only grand hotel in Venice since 1880, known as "Grand Hotel d'Italie Bauer Gruenwald", outcome of a happy marriage between Mr. Julius Gruenwald and Mr. Bauer's daughter.
Throughout the years, the hotel has been the favourite destination of the International and Financial Jet Set, Prime Ministers, Royal Families and famous stars of the artistic world who chose the Bauer for its warm hospitality, efficient and personalised service.
A substantial refurbishing has been completed in autumn 1999. The Bauer hasd all its doors: the Bauer Hotel with 102 deluxe rooms, 19 suites and junior suites and "Il Palazzo at the Bauer", the VIP historical wing with its 35 palatial rooms and 40 unique luxurious suites and junior suites, all are individually decorated, most of them with large balconies or terraces and magnificent view of the city, the Basin of San Marco and the Venetian Lagoon.

Guestrooms & Suites : The Hotel Bauer Gruenwald, located in the new section of the hotel, built between 1942 and 1949, proposes 96 spacious and luxurious guestrooms and 21 suites, appointed in a classic twentieth century style with lots of Venetian accents for a true Venetian atmosphere. The main entrance of Hotel Bauer is located on Campo San Moise near a small lateral canal with gondolas in summer time during the day and the evening.
All guestrooms, juniorsuite and suites are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, international direct dial telephone, PC outlet, minibar, safe and Italian marble bathroom with hairdryer and bathrobe.
- The spacious and comfortable Superior Rooms have a size of 20 squaremetres (215 square feet) and they are equipped with one queen-size bed or two twin-size beds. These rooms offer modern style furniture and Italian marble bathrooms. Some overlooking the interior courtyard, some others overlooking Rio San Moise or Campo San Moise are just perfect to forget the stress of a long journey.
- The completely renovated Deluxe Rooms have a size of 22 to 25 squaremetres (239 to 269 square feet) and they are equipped with one Queen-size bed or two twin-size beds. These rooms offer modern style furniture and Italian marble bathrooms, some with Jacuzzi. The Deluxe rooms overlook Rio San Moisè, a small side canal, or offer panoramic view of the city.
- The Junior Suites have a size of 35 squaremetres (373 square feet) and they are equipped with one queen-size bed or two twin-size beds. The Junior suites offer a large sitting area with comfortable armchairs, modern style furniture and Italian marble bathroom and they offer view of the courtyard, Rio San Moisè (a small side canal) or of Campo San Moise.
- The 17 luxurious Suites have a size of 50 squaremetres (538 square feet) and they are located in the renovated modern wing of the Hotel Bauer with view of a small private courtyard, the Campo San Moise or a small side canal. These suites are decorated elegant fabrics, designed by rubelli, original paintings and Murano glass chandekiers and they consist of a bedroom either with one queen-size bed or two twin-size beds, a walk-in closet, a living room with electric fireplace and an Italian marble bathroom.
Some suites are avialable also as 2 bedroom suite (interconnected to adjoinuing double guestroom) and they have a size of 75 squaremetres (810 square feet).

Cuisine & Cocktails : The hotel restaurant "De Pisis" features excellent Medeiterranean cuisine and Venetian specialities either indoors or on the beautiful terrace overlooking the Grand Canal. From the bar guests can enjoy of a renowed Venetian landmark the Church della Salute and Grand Canal. The bar serves delicious cocktails, drinks and buffets. Bar Gran Canale is the perfect setting for a relaxed aperitif throughout the summer months.
- The Gourmet Restaurant De Pisis, with its terrace overlooking the Grand Canal, is much more than a hotel restaurant: it is a destination for people of discerning taste and palate. The inside room, decorated in Venetian style, recreates the charming and intimate atmosphere of past times, surrounded by a pleasant air of kindness and competence.
- The Bauer Grill is less formal restaurant with an outstanding outdoor terrace on the lateral canal, and features fine international and regional cuisine.
- The Bar Gran Canal is the ideal place for an aperitif or an after dinner drink. Guests can also enjoy a wide range of creative light cuisine, cold and hot sandwiches, home made croutons and delicious salads.
