The Hotel Splendido Mare is a village extention to the legendary Orient-Express Hotel Splendido and is located in the very heart of Portofino and blends perfectly into the facade of the village and overlooks the famous Piazzetta and the waterfront. Guests can enjoy all the facilities of the Hotel Splendido only a 10 minute stroll away. A regular shuttle service is available.
Guestrooms & Suites : The Splendido Mare Hotel offers 8 double rooms and 8 suites, all rooms are light, airy and elegant, comfortable and well appointed, individually decorated and offering every amenity, as well as bath, bathrobe, hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV, minibar and air conditioning. The decor is elegant, the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Most rooms and suites have balconies or terraces, offering breathtaking view of the harbour and castle San Giorgio. - The Single Rooms are comfortable rooms furnished and appointed in the sober, elegant style of Orient-Express Hotel Splendido, looking unto the village. Equipped with a larger than single bed and with bathrooms with in-built shower.
- The Standard Rooms overlook the village roof-tops or cobbled Via Roma and are equipped with king size beds. Decor is elegant and sunny and pastel colours predominate. Bathrooms feature bath-tubs with in-built shower and some offer double vanities.
- Some of the Superior Rooms facing the sea and others with village view from windows and balcony or terrace, these rooms are spacious and airy and all bathrooms feature separate privies, walk-in showers and double vanities.
- The Superior Junior Suites are located on the front and Via Roma wings, some face the sea with a terrace and others have windows with village view. Comfortable and spacious (32 square metres) they feature king or twin beds and bathrooms offer double vanities, and walk-in showers.
- The Deluxe Junior Suites measure an average of 40 square meters and mostly offer a terrace or balcony overlooking the Piazzetta and harbour. The decor and colour scheme is in sunny Mediterranean shades, very restful. King size beds, sofas and armchairs assure the utmost comfort. Most Junior Suites can accommodate an extra bed.
- The Deluxe Suites overlooking the harbour and the Piazzetta with a balcony and terrace in the sitting room, this suite features different levels and is located in the front wing.
- The Exclusive Suite "Ava Gardner" stretching along the whole top floor of the Splendido Mare, it gravitates toward the largest terrace available in the Hotel with an incomparable view of the harbour, promontory and castle, fully visible from the bed and the sitting room. The 56 squaremeters terrace is adorned by a huge potted lemon tree and hanging flowering mediterranean plants of all kinds. The bedroom is large and incredibly well lit from two windows which highlight the soft pastel tones of the walls, fabrics and furniture. A small service bathroom is available as the major bathroom is above, connected by a comfortable almost spiral staircase. A large door connects to the sitting room, sober and very solar, thanks to an almost wall-to-wall glass window which, when gives the sitting room and terrace a feeling of just one large space, half indoor and half outdoor.
Cuisine & Cocktails : The Splendido Mare Hotel's Chuflay Restaurant specialises in local and regional Italian dishes. Guests dine indoors during the winter and alfreasco, overlooking the famous Piazetta in the summer. There is a piano music in the evenings.
Leisure & Wellness : The Hotel Splendido Mare shares most of the facilities of the Hotel Splendido as well as Beauty Parlour with sauna and massage, gymnasium,air heated salt-water swimming pool, tennis court and private speedboat for excursions (up to seven passengers).
Other Facilites : Private parking and garage are available to hotel guests.Scheduled shuttle offers regular service from Hotel Splendido to Splendido Mare and vice versa. Baby sitting. Small pets are welcome to Hotel Splendido Mare, but not to the public areas.
