The Hotel Europa is set in the historical centre of Rapallo just in front of the old castle and a few steps from the marina and the promontory of Portofino. The town of Rapallo has ancient origins. The first news about it can be dated back to 1240. In that period Rapallo was a Medieval village surrounded by town walls with five gates. Today Rapallo is an important seaside resort and has some small shipyards and maritime engines factories. The Hotel Europa is situated in the splendid Gulf of Tigullio. Already in the 19th century the Gulf of Tigullio, with its wonderful climate, beautiful view and tested services, was the privileged destination of an elite tourism, that loves spending long holidays in this gulf, penetrating the atmosphere and colours that have inspired poets, writers and musicians.
The former 17th-century residendence of Marquis Serra was converted into a hotel in the 19th century and today the Hotel Europa is one of the most elegant hotels of Rapallo. A few years ago the hotel underwent a complete renovation, which now successfully combines first class amenities with its original Italian character and ambience. The friendly atmosphere and impeccable personalized service enhance the tastefull accomodations.
Accommodation features: The 60 elegant guestrooms are individually decorated in classic style. Each guestroom is equipped with bath/shower and WC, hairdryer, bathrobes, toiletries, air-conditioning, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, radion, minibar and safe. Rooms with side seaview available.
Dining: The Restaurant "Il Trattato" serves an excellent cuisine with regional and international specialities and a very refined service in a cozy atmosphere. Here classic, authentic Ligurian dishes are served in a typically warm and hospitable atmosphere. The "Il Trattato" is a gastronomic beacon for the gourmets of the Ligurian Riviera.
The "Hemingway Bar" is a cosy bar dedicated to Ernest Hemingway, guests can sample delicious aperitifs before moving on to the "Il Trattato Restaurant".
In the summertime fresh drinks are served in the garden at "Orangerie Bar".
Sports and Wellness: The well equipped fitness centre with sauna, steam bath, Jacuzzi and gym, offers to guests the chance to capture some moments of mental and physical well-being. Beach is 100 meters away. Sailing, surfing and diving are 300 meters away. Horseback riding and golf course nearby.
Meetings and Banquets: The "I Carbonari Congress Hall" is the modern, well-equipped meeting and conference facility of the Hotel Europa, capable of hosting up to 70 participants.
