The luxurious and elegant Riffelalp Resort 2222 m is situated on 2,222 metres (7,290 feet) above sea level right in the heart of the Gornergrat skiing and hiking district. The location of the hotel boasts a unique and breathtaking alpine panorama as well as favorable microclimatic conditions. At these location the first gran hotel was built between the years 1878 to 1884, but completely destroyed by fire in 1961. In the years between 1988 to 1998, the Riffelalp Berghoteld again to guests. Guestrooms & Suites : The Riffelalp Resort 2222m offers 65 elegantly and comfortably appointed guestrooms and junior suites and five luxurious suites. All rooms and suites are decorated in a Swiss chalet style with wood panelling.
All guestrooms, junior suites and suites are equipped with cable and satellite TV, direct dial telephone, modem and fax connection, safe and bathroom. Most rooms have a balcony and offer breathtaking views of the Matterhorn.
- The Standard Rooms Nostalgie are equipped either with one double bed or two twin-size beds and they offer a working desk with chair. These rooms are comfortabley decorated in a swiss style with wood panelling and most of them offer views of the majestic Matterhorn. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub.
- The Superior Rooms Nostalgie have a size of 31 to 37 squaremetres (334 to 398 square feet) and they are equipped with one double bed. These rooms are elegantly decoarted in a Swiss style with wood panelling and they offer a sitting corner with sofa and armchair. The Superior Rooms Nostalgie offer stunning views of the majestic Matterhorn. The bathroom is equipped with a whirlpool bathtub.
- The Standard Rooms Chalet are equipped either with one double bed or two twin-size beds and they are decorated in an elegant Swiss chalet style with wood panelling. These rooms offer a sitting corner and most of these rooms have a balcony with beautiful views of the Matterhorn. The bathroom is equipped with a whirlpool bathtub.
- The Junior Suites Chalet have a size of 48 to 60 squaremetres and they are equipped with one king-size bed. The Junior suites are decorated in an elegant and modern Swiss chalet stil and they offer a sitting area with sofa and armchairs. Thes rooms have a balcony with breathtaking viwes of the majestic Matterhorn. The elegant bathroom is equipped with a whirlpool bathtub.
- The Suites Monte Rosa have a size of 74 squaremetres (797 square feet) and they are elegantly and comfortably decorated in a Swiss chalet style. These suites consists of a spacious living room, a bedroom with one king-size bed, a second very small bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with hamman, a bathroom with shower and a balcony with beautiful view of the majestic Matterhorn.
- The Suites Matterhornhave a size of 104 squaremetres (1,119 square feet) and they are elegantly and comfortably decorated in a Swiss chalet style. These suites consists of a spacious living room, a bedroom with one king-size bed, a second bedroom also with one king-size bed, a bathroom with hamman, a bathroom with shower and a balcony with beautiful view of the majestic Matterhorn.

Cuisine & Cocktails : The Riffelalp Resort spoilt the guests with several restaurants offering something for each taste and every occasion.
- The Restaurant Alexandre servers delicious international cuisine, à la carte menus and rich buffets in an elegant athmosphere with stunning views and isfor lunch and dinner.
- The restaurant Walliser Keller offers excellent local specialities like racelette and chese fondue from thefire in a rustic and homey ambienc.
- La Terrasse du Pavillon serves outstanding international cuisine, local delicacies and everything from shi-hut favourites with breathtaking views and is a must for all gourmets
- The Piano Bar Lodge is a popular meeting point and this spacious bar area is located in the cosy lobby. The Lodge offers delicious cocktails with live piano music.
- Within the half board the "Dine Around" system offers you a choice of 10 restaurants in Zermatt with Italian, French, Swiss, American and Japanese cuisen. The evening train connects the guests with the village of Zermatt until 11:30 p.m.

The ski area offers 394 kilometres ski runs, inclusive slopes from the simplest to the most challenging as well as 74 transport facilities and the white wonderland with the majastic Matterhorn boasts endless opportunities for ski-tours.
Zermatt offers many opportunities for hiking with numerous well-marked walks and footpaths, 400 kilometres in all, amidst pine-scented mountain forests, ice-blue glaciers and calm Alpine lakes.
Other local activities include tennis, mountain biking, ice skating, curling, winter and summer skiing, helicopter trips, heli-skiing, glacier tours and paragliding.

Other Facilites : In addition to magnificent salons and alcoves for relaxation, the "Riffelalp Resort 2222m" also has two bowling alleys, a wine bar, a home cinema, a billiard room, a kindergarten, and the concert and conference hall "The Church". "Dine around" with 10 restaurants in Zermatt are available. Guests can reach the "Riffelalp Resort 2222m" from Zermatt station with the Gornergrat railway. The first morning train to Zermatt station departs during summertime at 8.20 a.m. amd during wintertime at 6.45 a.m. and the last train leaves Zermatt at 11.30 p.m. A shuttle services from the Riffelalp station to the hotel is available in winter motorised and in summer with the private tram through the beautiful stone pine forest. Pets are wellcome on request at Riffelalp Resort 2222m.
