Das 4-Sterne Hotel Cappuccino Convento, einer der offiziellen "geschichtsträchtigen Orte Italiens", wurde als Hoztel 1821 von Gregorio Vozzi eröffnet und 1937 von seinem Erben, dem Grafen von Vallefiorita, übernommen und es befindet auch heute noch im Besitze der gleichen Familie.
Die Terrasse des Klosters ist berühmt für ihren atemberaubenden Blick auf das MIttelmeer und Amalfi und ohne Zweifels ist dieses Panorama eines der am häufigsten gemalten weltweit. Auf dieser Terrasse verbrachte schon Richard Wagner viele Abende verzaubert von dem Blick. Der Aufenthalt hier inspirierte auch den Dichter Longfellow und auch Samuel Morse war hier Gast. Es ist vorzüglich erhalten und seine Flure, der Kreuzgang und die Loggen sind eine wahre Oase des Friedens und der Ruhe. Die Gästezimmer befinden sich in den ehemaligen Zellen der Kappuziner Mönche und die Lobby ist zwar nicht besonders groß, aber sehr kultiviert und einfach schön in ihrer strengen Schlichtheit, wie sie einem ehemaligen Kloster wohl ansteht. Das Haus ist sehr passend dekoriert mit massiven Antiquitäten von ebenfalls strenger Eleganz und Werken bekannter Künstler an den Wänden.
Die Zimmer : Alle 50 Zimmer und zwei Suiten sind komfortabel und hübsch ausgestattet und verfügen über Bad oder Dusche, Klimaanlage, Sat-TV, Radio, Selbstwahltelephon und Fön. Gelegen in der Ruhe und dem üppigen Grün der Gärten befinden sie sich in den ehamaligen Mönchszellen, welche sorgfältig unter Erhaltung der alten Strukturen restauriert wurden.
Dining : Das Hotelrestaurant ist groß und ebenfalls von strenger und kultivierter Eleganz. Hier wird sehr gute regionale, aber auch internationale Küche serviert, bei passendem Wetter selbstverständlich auch auf schattigen, von Bougainvilléen umrahmten Terrasse mit herrlichem Blick auf die Bucht.
Sport und Wellness : Sie finden hier ein Solarium und natürlich den mit einem Lift erreichbaren kleinen Privatstrand. In Amalfi können Sie darüberhinaus sämtlichen Wassersportarten nachgehen oder die öffentlichen Tennisplätze nützen.

The Hotel Cappuccini Convento, one of "Locali storici d'Italia",d in 1821 by Gregorio Vozzi, was inherited in 1937 by his grandson Giuseppe Aielli, count of Vallefiorita, and is still managed by the same family.
The terrace of the monastery is famous for the gorgeous view of the Mediterranean and Amalfi it offers and its panorama is undoubtedly one of the most portrayed in the world. This is the terrace, where Richard Wagner spent many evenings , entranced by the view. This house inspired also the poet Longfellow and extended hospitally to Samuel Morse. It s beautifully preserved and its corridors, the cloister and the loggias provide a true oasis of tranquility and peace. The guestrooms are located in the formerly cells of the Franciscan Capuchin monks. The lobby is small in size but with a particular atmosphere of refinement and austerity and in each part of the hotel it's possible to find massive antique furniture and prized works by famous artists on the walls.
Room amenities : All of the fifty guest rooms and two suites are comfortable and nicely equipped with bath or shower, air conditioning, sat-TV, radio, direct dial phone and hairdryer. They are plunged into the green and quiet of a large park and have been made out the ancient friars' cells faithfully restored to their original structure.
Dining : The hotel restaurant is rather large with an atmosphere particulary refined and serves regional and international cuisine, and meals are often taken on the bougainvillea filled shaded terrace, which affords stunning views across the bay.
Sports and Wellness : The adjoining solarium and a private small beach (lift) complete the facilities of the Hotel Cappuccini Convento. There are available all watersports at Amalfi and a public tennis court too.
