Kinloch House was built in 1840, extended in 1991, and has been in the ownership of the Shentall family since 1981. It is the fine example of a Scottish country house, with oak-panelled hal and staircase leading to the floor galleries.
The Kinloch House is set in 35 acres of its own garden and Parklands, grazed by Highland cattle, with pituresque views to the south over Marlee Loch to the Sidlaw Hills beyond. The garden provides a great deal of flowers and organic vegetable for the hotel, as well as offering guests a unique gardering insight a rather beautiful to sit and watch the world go by.
The house abounds with antiques, fine paintings, log fires and fresh flowers.
Accommodation Features: There are 20 delightful bedrooms including two suites and five four-pster bedrooms, for of the rooms are on the ground floor. All rooms are individually furnished to the highest standards and many include four-poster and half-tester beds. Rooms at the front of the house offer lovely views across a field of highlands cattle to the Sidlaw Hills and glimpers of nearly lochs. All the spacious bedrooms with large bathrooms in the east wing capture the same lovely country side view.
All rooms and suites offer en-suite bathrooms, bathrobe, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, colour television, radio, heated towel rack, fresh flowers and fruits, tea and coffee making facilities and trouser press.
Dining: Dinner is regarded as the signature of a perfect day, whith a menu which changed daily. Bill Mc Nicoll, head chef for over 18 years, uses only the finest Scottish produce, and on the wine list there are over 300 wines.
In the season, the walled garden provides the hotel with organic vegetables and herbs along with flowers for the rooms. No smoking in the restaurant, vegetarian menu available. No children under 7 years allowed in dining room. Children's menu available between 17:30 to 18:30.
The cocktail bar with adjacent lounge and conservatory over a choise of over 155 malt whiskies.
Sports and welness: Indoor swimming pool, health club, Spa, sauna, steam room, Whirlpoo bath, gym and massage. Croquet.
