The five-star Grande Albergo Mezzatorre is situated imposingly on a headland in the midst of a natural park between Forio and Lacco Ameno in the West of Ischia.
The island of Ischia marks the northern end of the Gulf of Naples whereas Capri defines the southern end. It is divided into six municipalities: Ischia, Casamicciola Terme, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Barano and Serrara Fontana. The hotel is between Forio and Lacco Ameno, from which it is only 1.5 kilometers. This part of the island, a favorite haunt of artists of any kind, is characterized by the typical Mediterranean architecture, with numerous domes and towers peeping out of the green along the hill of Zaro and Punta Imperatore, sheltered by Mount Epomeo.
The exclusive Grande Albergo Mezzatorre is located amidst a seven hectars park with pine groves and has breathtaking panorama view over the Bay of Montano. The refined atmosphere is complemented perfectly by friendly and attentive service. The main body is an old tower dating back to the 16th century used by the local natives to defend themselves against the Saracens and later on belonged to Baron Fassini. The other buildings are scattered among the pines and oaks encircling the hotel and blend perfectly with the landscape and the style of the tower.
Accommodation features: This hotel is built around a 16th-century watchtower housing romantic guestrooms and suites. Other buildings scattered in the park with pine groves include charming rooms and three large junior suites. The Hotel has 59 air-conditioned guest rooms, of which twenty-two are in the tower. Each room is well appointed with exquisite Italian taste and elegance and they are fully equipped with a bath or shower and WC, telephone, color TV, minibar and a safe. The Tower Suites are located in the tower and they have separate living room and bedroom and a magnificent view of the sea.
Dining: The main restaurant serves an excellent Italian cuisine, for al fresco candlelight dining and live music. Pool Bar and Restaurant offers regional dishes, salads and snacks. American Bar and Piano Bar La Torre. La Piazzetta outdoor bar in the summertime.
Sports and Wellness: Two private bays. Heated seawater swimming pool, fitness room, tennis court. State-of-the-art spa and health centre with a variety of thermal and beauty treatments, thalassotherapy and massages. Water sports, jogging, biking and horseback riding nearby.
