The Metzgerwirt is an inn in the historic centre of the town, that is rich in tradition. Atmosphereabounds in cosy rooms. It's first recorded mention was in the year 1493, and it has been owned by the family Hoerl for generations. Past history mets the tone and to that the owner family feels obligated in the management of the house. The remodelling of the building into a comfortable and romantic hotel was considerably influenced by its past. The hotel hall with its bar, fireplace, tiled stove and reading recess, is the link between the inn and the hotel, by utillzing ageless wood in the area right next to the rose garden.
The lake, only 50 metres away, provides a source of relaxation in both summer and winter.
Accommodation features: The Metzgerwirt offers 25 double rooms, 7 suites and 5 apartments. All guestrooms are individually and comfortably furnishd and offer toilet and shower/bath, bath robes, hairdryer, toiletry, cable TV/satellite TV, radio, safe deposit, telephone and settee.
The Buergerzimmer with living and and bed area, are located in the romantic 500-years old part of the building.
The Studentenzimmer are small double rooms with separate beds.
The Herrschaftszimmer have a spacious living and bedroom and private balcony.
The Fuerstenzimmer-Apartment has 2 bedrooms for 4 people with private balcony and separate toilet and bath tub.
Fuerstenzimmer-Suite has separate living room area and bedroom area with private balcony and separate toilet and bath tub.
The Grafenzimmer is a suite in the "Landhaus" connected with the hotel, country-style furnished, with private balcony and separate toilet. Quiet and sunny setting, ideal for families.
Dining: Its delicious plain home-cooking has been well-known for years, as has its well-stocked wine cellar, carefully chosen fresh produce and prime meat, prepared and served with love. Cosy hotelbar.
Sports and Wellness: Europa Sport Region with the ski areas Schmittenhöhe and Kitzsteinhorn are nearby. Cross-country skiing, winter walking, ice skating, cross-country tracks.
Zell am See bathing area, solar heated outdoor pool are only 50 metres away. Golf course, tennis courts, many water sports indoor swimming pool nearby.
