Built in pure Palladian style with Art Nouveau decorations, the Hotel Des Bains has welcomed international guests since 1900 and has been the preferred holiday destination of many. Nostalgia pervades the entire hotel - from the extraordinary wrought iron banister staircase to the Palladian terraces surrounding the hotel.
Thomas Mann chose this to be the setting for Death in Venice, and Luchino Visconti brilliantly translated these images into his unforgettable film of the same name. More discreet than the picturesque Excelsior, the Des Bains presents classic, more Nordic lines, its elegance presented in white, also the color of its characteristics cabanas which mark its beach.
Accommodation features: The 191 guestrooms and suites are furnished elegantly and maintain a Belle Epoque atmosphere while still offering every type of modern comfort.
