The finest of the country houses in the neighbourhood of Inverness in the magnificent Highlands, Culloden House Hotel an exquisite Georgian mansion, set in anparkland.
At the time of the Jacobite rising 1745-46, Culloden House was requisitioned by Bonnie Prince Charlie and used as his lodging and battle headquater prior to that fateful and final battle on Culloden Moor on the 16th of April 1746.
Today, this handsome country house stands in nearly 40 acres where guests are free to wander about the elegant lawns and parkland to enjoy the exceptional peace, tranquility and majesty of the ground. In the garden you can find several statues and sculptures to make you experience all the more unique and memorable.
The interior features a wunderfully comfortable drawing-room with magnificent Adamsque plasterwork, many fine antiques and a largefire.
The Garden Mansion House is situated in a tranquil and attractive part of the grounds, a short romantic walk from the main building. Although built just over ten years ago, the building was specially commissioned to ensure that the design and appearance reflected to highest standards.
Accommodation Features: Each of the twenty-eight charming and lavishly furnished bedrooms is uniquily decorated. Many of the spacious rooms have delightful features such as crystal chandeliers and marble fireplaces and all guestrooms combine the luxury of a romantically furnished room with all the modern comforts.
In the Garden Mansion House are four more large double ensuite bedrooms and a joint living area. It is ideal for groups to use to retain an independence from the hotel, whilst still taking advantage of the facilities of the hotel.
All guestrooms and suites offer hairdryer, bathrobes, direct dial telephone, radio, colour television and trouser press.
Dining : As a member of Taste of Scotland, Culloden House Hotel is amongst the cream of fine dining in Scotland. The chef carecully and lovingly prepares 5 course meals, using the finest and freshest Scotish produce.
Guests may choose to dine in the main dining room, elegantly and luxuriously decorated or more privatly in the elegant »Morning Room«.
The »Adams Lounge« is the ideal place for intimate conversation with an after dinner drink and a quality cigar.
