The beautiful Drawing Room features an Italianate vaulted ceiling which is restful in the extreme with its sweeping and curved plaster work. There is also a splendid billards room on the second floor with a full-size antique table. All public rooms enjoy extensive views eather south or east.

The cuisine as a whole is complimented by a carefully chosen list of mainly European wines.

The nearby fishing port of Mallaig -famous for it's white sand beaches- provides the gateway to Skye and the Outer Hebrides. You also have to see Castle Tioram, the Glenfinnan Monument, Neptuns's staircase and so much more.Recreationally there is a 9-hole golf course at Traigh (7miles) and croquet may be played on the lawn below Arisaig House's terrace. Both fishing and horeseback riding can be arranged.
The gardens : True to its Victorian roots, the garden has extensive terraces and no less than three walled gardens at differing levels. The first is devoted to the production of fruit and vegetables, the second to flowers, many of which are grown primarily for the house and its guests, and the third encloses a steeply sloping rock garden of largely natural outcrops. Sweeping lawns and mature beechwoods lead eventually to the sea, only minutes away. The house is approached by a steeply winding drive through an expertly planted arboretum including such glories as giant American redwoods, specie rhododendrons and azaleas, specimen cedar, maple and many other varieties of both evergreen and deciduous trees.
