Glenapp Castle wurde 1870 von dem berühmten Architekten David Bryce für James Hunter, den Abgeordneten der Grafschaft Ayrshire, erbaut. Im Laufe der Jahre verfiel das Schoss bis zur Baufälligkeit. Endlich, im April 2000, wurde es nach einer aufwendigen und originalgetreuen Renovierung durch die Besitzerfamilie Cowan als exklusives und luxuriöses Hotel voller Atmosphäre und Romantik eröffnet. Die großzügigen und eleganten Salons, das Restaurant, die Gästezimmer, die Halle mit Eichenpaneelen und Korridore wurden durch Stilmöbel, Antiquitäten, Originalgemälde und eine vornehme Einrichtung aufgewertet und es nun ein Familienbesitz von seltener Eleganz mit höchstem Komfort im traditionellen Stil.
Zimmerbeschreibungen: Es gibt 15 Gästezimmer und 2 Suiten in Glenapp Castle. Alle Gästezimmer und Suiten sind elegant und individuell eingerichtet, mit Blick über den wunderschönen Park oder über die Irische See nach Ailsa Crag, Arran und Mull of Kintyre. Auch die Badezimmer, mit Selbstwahltelefon, sind luxuriös und prächtig ausgestattet. Alle Gästezimmer und Suiten verfügen über Selbstwahltelefon, Farbfernseher, VCR und CD Player. Viele Zimmer haben einen Kamin und alle Räume haben Blick auf den 12 Hektar großen Park oder die Irische See, manche Zimmer haben Blick über beides.
Die zwei "Master Rooms sind sehr groß und sie sind reich mit Stuck verziert.
Die zwei Sitten haben einen mit demSchlafraum verbundenen Wohnraum.

Within the castle there are graceful lounges and elegant dining rooms as well as 17 individually furnished and decorated bedrooms and suites and seemingly endless oak panelled hallways and corridors. All are handsomely furnished with personally chosen antiques and fine oil paintings, and individually decorated to the highest standard in traditional style.
Room amenities : There are seventeen luxuriously appointed bedrooms and suites at Glenapp. All are individual, and all look out upon the beauty of the gardens or across the Irish Sea to Ailsa Craig, Arran and the Mull of Kintyre. The ensuite bathrooms - traditionally appointed - are equally luxurious. All rooms -including bathrooms- have direct dial telephone, colour TV, VCR and CD player. Many bedrooms have coal and log effect gas fires, and all rooms have superb views of the gardens or the coastline, or both in many cases. The two 'Master Rooms' are palatial in size, with highly ornate cornice-work. There are two suites, which in addition to the bedroom area have an interconnecting sitting room.
Dining : Dining at the castle is an unique experience. The finest cuisine, produced by a skilled and professional team, is served each evening in the gracious surroundings of the castle dining rooms. Complementary wines from the cellars are served with each day's menu, or guests may prefer to choose from the extensive Connoisseurs' List.
Sports and Wellness Individual guests at Glenapp Castle may prefer simply to relax and enjoy the peace and seclusion of the castle and its beautiful gardens. The more energetic might also have a game of croquet or perhaps tennis on our all weather court in the grounds. For the golfer Glenapp Castle will be happy to arrange for a round on one of the many superb local courses such as Creachmore in Stranraer, Dunskey at Portpatrick, or Brunston Castle at Dailly.
